LIDIA SALAZAR OROZCO
<META name="Lydia Salazar Orozco -portrait artist" content="portrait artist"> Siendo Lydia la más pequeña de la familia, permanecía en casa cuando sus hermanos ya habían partido al colegio. Junto a mi pintaba o dibujaba.

PERROS CABALLOS
As Lydia is the younguest in the family, she stayed home while her brother and sisters had already left for school. She would draw or paint along with me. She specially liked to work with watercolours while adding an additional effect with rice or salt. By then, Pepe my husband was having heart problems and Lydia told me one day, with her great child sensibility, that she would draw the grass following the shape of the electrocardiograms taken on her Father. Later on, Lydia chose Graphic Design for her mayor but she opted for interrupting her studies in order to help the family. She did not want to cause additional expenses without being able to contribute financially. She was hired by a record company to guide and support such music stars as "Flans", "Mecano", "Selena" and "Intocable" among them, however, she was still yearning for free time to paint. This did not happen until years later when her record company asked her to take responsibility of México's northern region for them. With this move, Lydia had to leave behind a little dog which she called "El Gallo" (The Rooster) as he was the one to wake everybody up in the mornings. A few months after her departure he grew cancer and died of it as well as from nostalgia. It was at this time that dogs became Lydia's main theme. By sketching them she manifested her love for her little dog but she has also extended to other subjects such as flowers, horses and nature, even though dogs themselves remain her favorite theme.
